VDASH Guide

Running VDASH in a Virtual Environment

Why VDASH should be installed directly on a native Windows system instead of a virtual machine.

Virtual environments are not supported

Why VDASH is not allowed in a virtual machine

Running VDASH in a virtual environment is not allowed because the USB connection between the virtual system and Volvo DiCE can be very unstable.

We spent a lot of time testing VDASH and car programming in virtual environments. In the end, we decided to forbid this setup because USB connection speed and stability create more problems than they solve.

Recommended installation

Please install VDASH directly into your native Windows 7 / 8 / 10 / 11 operating system.

You can also install Windows on supported MacBooks using Boot Camp: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201468
