CANALT Wiring for SPA / CMA Volvos


In order for the VDD to work properly on newer Volvo platforms (SPA and CMA), it needs access to the vehicle's low-speed CAN bus.

This connection allows the VDD to:

  • Check the status of doors, locks, and windows

  • Enable features like remote parking heater, remote engine start, etc.

These functions will not work unless the CANALT wiring is installed.

What you need to do

You have to install additional wiring (CANALT) that connects the low-speed CAN bus to the OBD port. This is done using special extension wires, which you can purchase from our e-shop.

Please note that even with correct wiring, your car must already support remote start or heater functions in the first place for you to use these functions via VDD. If these features are disabled, they need to be activated by a PRO / PRO Verified dealer.
