VDD Guide
CANALT Wiring for SPA / CMA Volvos
Newer Volvo SPA and CMA platforms require access to the low-speed CAN bus for selected VDD functions to work correctly.
For VDD to work properly on newer Volvo platforms, specifically SPA and CMA, it needs access to the vehicle's low-speed CAN bus.
Without CANALT wiring, selected VDD functions will not work because the VDD cannot communicate with the required low-speed CAN bus systems.
The CANALT connection allows VDD to access and use functions such as:
Vehicle Status
Check the status of doors, locks, and windows.
Remote Functions
Enable supported features such as remote parking heater, remote engine start, and other compatible VDD functions.
You need to install additional CANALT wiring that connects the low-speed CAN bus to the OBD port.
Extension Wires
This installation uses special extension wires available in our e-shop.

Note: These cable pairs are identical in terms of color and electrical characteristics. You can choose either pair.
Important Takeaway
Even with correct CANALT wiring, your car must already support remote start or heater functions for those functions to work through VDD.
If these features are disabled, they must be activated by a PRO / PRO Verified dealer.
