Before Starting SCU / SCL Pairing
Before pairing the SCU / SCL unit in VDASH, make sure the immobilizer code is decoded.
IMMO Code Requirement
The IMMO code must be decoded. For P3 vehicles, the IMMO code is automatically decoded when the CEM PIN is already present or has been successfully decoded.
02 – Unit Requirement
Use Only a New Virgin SCU / SCL
The SCU / SCL unit must be new virgin, also known as the blue box.
Important: A used SCU / SCL from another vehicle cannot be paired and must not be used for this procedure.
03 – Pairing Procedure
Pairing the SCU / SCL in VDASH
Follow this procedure when installing and pairing the new SCU / SCL unit.
- Make sure the ignition is OFF.
- Remove the car key from the original SCU.
- Plug in the new SCU / SCL unit and insert the key.
- Plug in the J2534 device.
- Start VDASH.
- Connect to the car in VDASH.
- Ignore the warning about the key position.
- Start the SCU / SCL pairing procedure.
04 – Recommendation
Keep the Vehicle Powered
It is recommended to connect a battery charger to the vehicle before starting the SCU / SCL pairing procedure.
