VDASH Guide

WAM Camera Calibration Drive
– Preconditions and Procedure

A simple checklist and driving procedure for completing WAM camera calibration under the correct conditions in VDASH.

01 – Preconditions

Before Starting Calibration

Before beginning the calibration drive, make sure the vehicle and surrounding conditions are suitable.

  • There must be enough daylight.
  • The side mirrors must be unfolded.
  • All doors must be closed.
  • The tailgate must be closed.
  • No trailer must be connected to the vehicle.

02 – Drive Procedure

Recommended Driving Conditions

  1. Drive the car at a speed between 4 and 45 km/h.
  2. For best results, keep the speed around 15 km/h.
  3. Continue driving for at least 15 minutes.

03 – Steering Note

Keep the Steering Wheel Straight

Keep the steering wheel in a straight position while driving.

Calibration will pause if the steering wheel is turned beyond the permitted limits, approximately 1° to either side. Calibration will resume once the steering wheel is returned to a straight position.

04 – Completion

After the Calibration Drive

After driving for at least 15 minutes under the required conditions, check whether the calibration has completed successfully. If calibration does not complete, repeat the procedure and make sure all preconditions are met.

Final Takeaway

For successful WAM calibration in VDASH, perform the procedure in daylight, keep the mirrors unfolded, close all doors and the tailgate, disconnect any trailer, and drive at a steady low speed while keeping the steering wheel as straight as possible.
