VDD CEM Relay Bridge for Volvo P2 MY1998-2004
Required modification for selected Volvo P2 vehicles where the CEM disconnects the OBD socket after the key is removed from the ignition.
Why the CEM Relay Bridge Is Needed
On some Volvo P2 vehicles from model years 1998-2004, the CEM relay disconnects the OBD socket when the key is removed from the ignition.
Because VDD communicates through the OBD socket, this can prevent VDD from controlling selected remote functions when the car is locked or the key is not present.
To keep VDD communication available, the relay in the CEM must be bridged.
Functions Affected
After the CEM relay bridge is completed, VDD can remain connected through the OBD socket and use supported remote functions such as:
- Remote parking heater control
- Remote lock and unlock commands
- Other supported VDD functions that require OBD communication while the key is removed
